They Come with the Time

It's that time of year again when the garden spiders start making their appearance. I shot this in the bushes back home.

I don't think I've ever heard of them called that, and that's kinda funny because I didn't think of them as W's but rather zig-zags. "Garden Spider" and "Writing Spider" are nicknames anyway. I guess it just depends on where you're from.

The spider is called Argiope aurantia. It is a voracious bug-eater and are not poisonous, so don't kill them unless they're somewhere inside the house and you feel threatened. If you come across one outside in its web, then leave it alone! I'm not a spider-lover, but I hate mosquitoes and aphids, so let them be.

Hope this was informative.

I knew most of that, except the latin part. I don't think I've ever seen one of these spiders come inside the house actually. Whenever I see one, I always try and find some food for it. It's really awesome to see it wrap up a grasshopper or something. I think they are my favorite spiders.
