Crazy thought...how much time do you have to wait for the perfect shots? (you seem to have a lot of them)
Maybe try this scene again at that exact moment when the light comes on. Have someone flip the switch while you're taking multiple shots. I think it would be interesting.
You know it depends on the picture. Most of my shots though I don't wait, I just see something going on and take a picture. For instance this picture I didn't have to wait for the perfect moment. I just saw what was happening and I liked it. However, what I did do was notice out my window how the sun was getting low and shadows were getting long so I went outside with my camera and saw this.
