Thanksgiving Break

Thanksgiving break was just what the doctor ordered. Not only did I get a break from the insane amount of school work, but I got over my freak sickness. After going home Tuesday afternoon, I went to see the doctor. You know something, doctors pretty much do nothing, at least this doctor. I'm thinking I could do their job, with out going to med school. I go in there thinking ok doctor, just give me some antibiotics and let me be on my way. So I finally get out of the waiting room and head back to the other room. The lady records my weight, blood pressure, pulse, and temperature. The doctor comes in about 10 minutes later and introduces himself. He asks me how I'm feeling and looks at my sheet...
'Hmm, it says here you have a fever of 100.9. What are you're symptoms?'
'Well I have an off an on fever, sore throat, head aches, and body aches.'
'Do you have any kind of rash?'
'No I don't have a rash.'
He then proceeds to examine my arm and my chest and stomach.
'No, I don't see any rash.'
Well thank you doctor. I couldn't figure that one out on my own. He then looks at my throat.
'Wow, it's red back there.'
Why yes, it is, I have a sore throat. Can you please just prescribe me some antibiotics now?
'I'm going to prescribe you some antibiotics.'
Oh really? Do you think I need some?

Wednesday I sat at home all day and did nothing. Actually I take that back...I drank two containers of juicy juice, took my antibiotics, and watched 4 movies. I began to feel much better. That doctor sure was smart prescribing me antibiotics.

Thursday was Thanksgiving obviously. I haven't seen a lot of my family in a while so it was really great to see everyone again, and actually see some new comers to the family that I haven't seen yet. The little ones definitely out number the adults I would say almost 2 to 1 now. It's crazy. Check out these two cuties. They are my twin cousins.

Friday, I paid a visit to my good friend at UK, Kris. Kris, Michael, Nel, and I went to see UK woop up on Georgia State. We then spent the night because the next day we would go hiking at Red River Gorge (an annual tradition following Thanksgiving).

This pretty much concluded my Thanksgiving break. I am now over my sickness, and ready to get back to working on hydrology, geomechanics, ethics, art, steel design, and world religions. This semester is almost over!

I'm Dying

I'm the kind of guy that doesn't get sick. In the past I only got sick with a cold once a year (which you really can't help), and sinus congestion when seasons change. I don't get fevers, I don't get food poisoning, I don't get the flu, I don't throw up, I don't get stomach viruses. I have had perfect attendance at school since the 3rd grade. My friends think I'm crazy when I tell them I don't get sick, but it's true, at least until recently.
Last year I decided I went to the Cincinnati Zoo for the festival of lights around Christmas time. While I was there I got really sick. Somehow I contracted a stomach virus and was sick for days. I didn't sleep well and had my head over the toilet every night.
For the past week I have been struggling with an off and on fever, headaches, a sore and weak body, and now a sore throat. All this seems like flu symptoms to me, except I don't have sinus congestion. It's really weird.
What is wrong with me?!

New Favorite Movie

I just went and saw Napoleon Dynamite last night at the cheap theaters with a bunch of friends; a lot more people than I figured were going, but it was a blast. I usually don't say that I have a favorite movie, or favorite anythings for that matter. But I think this movie is my exception. You have to see it. GO!!!

Tadda!-Nick-Of-Time

Today was an awesome day for singing. I admit it I love to sing everyday, but today, I loved it just a little bit more. Plus, Katie and I decided to go to The Vine tonight, so Booya, awesome songs galore. We went a couple weeks ago. That was the first time that I have gone since the beginning of this semester. It just didn't really work out with mass at the Interfaith Center and all. However, I found out that if you skip free supper at the end, you can make it in the "Tadda!-Nick-of-Time" (Rocky and Bullwinkle quote). I'm really glad I went tonight. The sermon was just what I need to hear.

A Big Milestone

The reason I write in this blog is to give myself something to look at later and see what I was thinking and what was going on in my life. I feel like I've been slacking though because I haven't posted nearly as much this semester as I did prior. I think because I've been so busy and because I've been spending a lot of time working on another web page. But I suppose it's not that big of a deal. Besides, I'm writing something now...

Friday was a special day. A big milestone was passed in my, uh....car's life.
