You Got Served
This was at my first UofL volleyball game. These girls impressed me very much with their incredible ball control and team coordination. Attending this also made me sad, as attending any NCAA sport does, that ultimate has not gone NCAA...yet. I can only dream of what it would be like to get a scholarship to play the game I love in an arena or field built for that sole purpose, and have fans that love to cheer us on.
I cropped this picture a little because I do not own a nice camera with a zoom lens.

Clouds Finale
This will be my last post in my "Clouds" series, at least the last one intentionally posted for content involving clouds. I took this picture the same day as the fog photo I posted the other day. I didn't want to hurt my neck looking up, so I just pointed the camera up and got what I got. But I don't think there was any need to frame this sky (gasp). It was pretty much the same all over. If you look closely, you can see a jet trail.

Old Louisville Clouds
Last night, a cold front with thunderstorms rolled through the area, making this morning feel incredible. When I went into the living room this morning, I noticed some nice cloud formations out the window. There was a lot of depth and contrast in them backed by a saturated blue sky...they just looked cool to me. In fact, because I like clouds so much, I think I'll make the next few posts dedicated to clouds.

Umbrella
Ok, this weekend I am going home for sure. My cousin Nicole is getting married back home. So, you know what that means...I'm hoping to post some photos of the happy couple.
This time, this picture will have to last you through the weekend. I took this from my bedroom window a rainy day after the remnants of Katrina passed through. I tried a short pan shot here. I almost got it, but not quite. This is also cropped quite a bit because I'm on the third floot and my camera doesn't have a high focal length.

Premonition of Fall
This leaf caught my eye because it was all by itself on a concrete bench next to humanities. Actually, I take that back, it was next to this bottle, but it was the only leaf here. This area was kinda like the Island of Misfit Toys...hmm, kinda.

Deep Contemplation
To start this Monday Tuesday off well, I decided to have a wreck on my bike while going to class. I'm not sure exactly what happened. I don't remember it too well. Not because I got a concussion. I remember thinking to myself as it was happening, "I have no idea why I am losing my balance and flipping over the handle bars", but that's what happened. I remember I had to go off the sidewalk a little to avoid a garbage can. When I did this, I had a sudden fear of the terrain. Not that it was bad, but for some reason I did. My best guess is that I hit a rough spot, my front wheel got caught, or jerked, my hands slipped from the handle bars, and then gravity took over. It's kinda funny too the way society reacts in this situation. Of the, maybe five, people that saw this, only one asked me if I was ok. And that person really didn't stop to ask me. He kinda just asked as he was walking by, not really looking at me or waiting for an answer. Quite interesting, but anyway...
I took this picture last week at the gallery hop (I took a lot of pictures then). First, I caught Ming sitting on the curb by himself, resting and thinking. I took a picture and he noticed me, remarking that I take a lot of pictures of him. "But you're so photogenic," I told him. Later, he volunteered to pose for me in the same position, only this time I decided to use a longer exposure for effect. Great job Ming for staying still!

Forgotten Bottle
It was such a beautiful day today I decided to go out on a little photo trek. I rode my bike to and around campus. It was really strange because campus was so quiet. But, I really enjoyed riding around and having time to myself.
This photo is dedicated to Sam because when I took it, I thought of one of his pictures.

Lone Woman
This weekend has been treating me rather well. It's been pretty laid back...watching some of the US Open, the UofL/UK football game, a UofL volleyball game, a field hockey game, tossing frisbee, playing pool, riding my bike, going to the gym, eating and sleeping. You know I could and probably should be doing homework, but...there's always tomorrow, right?
I took this picture the other night on the gallery hop. It struck me as odd that this woman was in this room all by herself when every other gallery was packed.

Duck, Duck, Goose
Alright, OK. I lied again. I decided not to go home after all. I think basically because I stayed here long enough that I didn't want to go home anymore. Plus gas is so expensive and I'm going home next weekend for my cousin's wedding, so I'll just wait.
For some reason, this scene just struck me as being funny, so I took a picture. My apologies if it really isn't funny.

Gallery Hop!
Alright, OK, I lied. I didn't go home to NKY just yet. I was going to go home yesterday, but when I heard there was a gallery hop going on last night, I decided to stay in town for one more night. Gallery Hop is a way to try and draw a crowd to some art galleries downtown. It's really neat because this happens once a month, it's free, and you get to ride trolleys to and from the galleries.

Just Act Normal
After class today, I decided to take my camera to campus. I wanted to get some pictures of...people. When I was heading that way, my good pal Ben called me to say that he was tossing in the quad. I'm glad he called me because when I got over there, I couldn't resist taking this picture...
I'm not sure if I remember your names correctly, and if I am wrong, please tell me and I will correct it. This was my first time asking random people if I could take their picture, so please forgive me if I'm wrong. Thank you Danielle, Rachel, and Summer.
